To create a new Text Ad:

  1. Sign in to Campaign Manager.
  2. Select the correct account and campaign group where you want to create the Text Ad.
  3. Note: If you're advertising for the first time, you’ll need to create a new account.
  4. Click the Create campaign button in the top right of the page.
  5. Click "Website visits"
  6. Add your targeted location
  7. Add Audience attributes. This is where you can target individuals by company, demographics, education, job experience and interests.
  8. Exclude any criteria. You can exclude locations (only applicable if it's inside your targeted area) or audiences.
  9. Disable "Enable Audience Expansion". This typically reduces the performance of your campaign.
  10. Select "Text ad"
  11. Set a daily budget. We recommend $10 for getting started/ testing.
  12. Select Bid type. We recommend "Maximum CPC bid"
  13. For Bid amount, LinkedIn provides recommendations. However, we found you can still get clicks/results by inputting a bid 30% less then the recommended bid. You can increase your bids later if they fail to attract the desired traffic.
  14. Enter your Conversion tracking (optional), Bid type, Daily budget, Bids, and Campaign start date then click Launch Campaign.
  15. Save and next.
  16. Select "Create new ad", enter in Ad headline, Ad description, URL (droplet URL), and upload an image. Typically, female images work best for CTR (recommended by LinkedIn).
  17. Create
  18. Try duplicates Ads and using different images for testing. You can also create many variations of test (different headlines and descriptions) for optimal performance.
