VOIP, Softphone & Automatic Call Tracking

Do you want to make phone calls on your computer and have them automatically be tracked inside the platform? This is the guide for you!

Pre-requisites:

1. VOIP Provider. We recommend EMAK since they offer unlimited calling with no hidden fees. Otherwise, Twilio or Plivo provide good quality calls but charge per min. 
2. SoftPhone. This allows you to make phone calls on your computer. It's just like a regular phone - but for your computer (app). We recommend the platform SoftPhone ($199 for a lifetime license) but it only works for Windows. The platform also works with Bria (apprx $30 USD/ year)and works for Windows/Mac but we have had reports of call loss (can't hear clients when they speak at times) with VOIP providers. If you decide to use Bria, please only sign up for the free trial and test out your VOIP provider first. 

Getting Setup:

After selecting your VOIP provider and SoftPhone, you must link them up and connect them to the platform.

1. Set up SoftPhone. Open your SoftPhone and enter your SIP credentials (provided by your VOIP provider). Here's the process using our recommendations:

a) Get SIP credentials from EMAK. They'll provide you with an extension, password and domain.

b) Enter these details into your platform phone. You can use a friendly name like "My Phone" or "Stuarts Phone" for the account name. 

2. Connect to the platform. If you're using the platform phone then you don't need to do anything for this part - we'll automatically add calls for you. If you're using Bria, please follow these steps:

• Go to Profile -> Settings -> Bria User ID.
• Your Bria User ID is your Extension #.

Call Quality. 

Your call quality is linked to your computer setup and your VOIP provider. We recommend reaching out to your VOIP provider if you're experiencing any issues with call quality. You can also make sure your computer is set up properly for making VOIP calls by following these recommendations.
